School Cleaner
Overview
Alfred Salter Primary School is seeking a reliable, conscientious and hardworking School Cleaner to join our premises team. This is an important role within our school community, helping to maintain a clean, safe and welcoming environment for pupils, staff and visitors. We are proud of our school and are looking for someone who shares our commitment to high standards, teamwork and safeguarding. The successful candidate will take pride in their work and understand the impact a clean environment has on children’s wellbeing and learning.
Personal attributes
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Previous experience working as a cleaner for 2+ years (essential).
- Reliable, punctual and able to manage time effectively.
- Takes pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
- Understands the importance of health and safety in a school setting.
- Demonstrates a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
Duties and Responsibilities include:
- Carry out daily cleaning of classrooms, corridors, offices and shared areas to a high standard.
- Clean toilets, washrooms and replenishment areas in line with hygiene and health and safety requirements.
- Ensure cleaning equipment is used and stored safely.
- Report any maintenance issues, damage or health and safety concerns to the Site Manager or Leadership Team.
- Follow all school policies relating to safeguarding, health and safety, and safe working practices.
- Work collaboratively with the premises and wider school team.
Salary & Benefits
Full Time Equivalent: £31,192 gross per year
Pro-rata gross amount: £10,952.70
Part Time Role / Term Time Only (39 weeks, with pay annualised over 52 weeks)
Pay - £19.22 per hour
Hours – 15 hours per week. Monday – Friday from 6-9am.
Alternative afternoon/evening times may be available, plus any overtime by mutual agreement.
