for Wraparound Care

Overview

We are looking for an enthusiastic Playworker to join our vibrant team at Alfred Salter Primary School. This role is for 5 days a week, term time only, in our Breakfast and After School Club, and potentially some lunch cover if mutually agreeable. Experience working with children aged 3 to 11 years is essential. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is passionate about children’s play and committed to creating enriching experiences beyond the classroom. As an OPAL (Outdoor Play and Learning) School, we place high value on active, creative and inclusive play. We are looking for an individual who will contribute positively to our Play Team and help deliver high-quality provision that ensures every child has a safe, stimulating and joyful experience.

Personal attributes

We are looking for someone with the following:

Has experience working with children aged 3–11 years (essential).
Enjoys working with children and understands the importance of play.
An interest and a passion for inclusion is essential as is experience.
Demonstrates patience, warmth and a caring attitude.
Communicates effectively and builds positive relationships with children, colleagues and families.
Approachable, adaptable and able to use initiative.
Brings enthusiasm and a good sense of humour to the role.
Can work both as part of a team and independently.

Duties and Responsibilities include:

Contributing to the day-today running of Breakfast Club and After School Club.
Working collaboratively as part of the play team to ensure that our children have positive experience in Wraparound Care.
Devising and delivering a wide variety of engaging activities which promote active and imaginative play for our children.
Supporting children’s wellbeing and positive behaviour.

Salary & Benefits

Grade 4 Spine Point 4 – 9 (Full Time Equivalent: £30,654 - £32,907)

Part Time Role / Term Time Only (39 Weeks, with pay annualised over 52 weeks)

Pay - £16.33 per hour

Hours – 23.45 hours per week, 7am – 8.45am (Breakfast Club) & 15:00 – 18:00 (After School Club)

Plus other times during the school day by mutual agreement.
