Nourish a child project

At Alfred Salter we take our responsibility as global citizens seriously. Since January 2010 our partnership with the SIETE CENTRAL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL has provided opportunities for pupils to make a real difference to the lives of other children. Our partner school is a large village school on the Island of Mindoro which lies south of the largest Island, Luzon, in The Philippines and about 100km from Manila. Stuart and Alice, the Principal of the school are committed to developing a long term partnership which will be of mutual benefit to both schools.

Since 2010 pupils at Alfred Salter have raised over £13,000 to fund the Nourish - a - Child project, which provides a daily meal for pupils who are currently underweight and malnourished. This has led to better attendance rates and better progress for these children and has improved their opportunities in the future. Fund raising is coordinated by the school council.
