Black History Month 2022Posted on: 21/10/2022
We have been celebrating Black History Month at Alfred Salter this October.
We started the month by talking about why Black History Month is important and why we celebrate it in school.
Each class had a significant black figure to learn about and had to create a piece of artwork based around that person.
Each class started their learning by researching their significant figure and learning about why they have been so influential. We recorded the information we had learnt and some classes created a presentation about their individual.
Over the rest of the month, classes produced different pieces of artwork. Some classes created art altogether, and some classes created individual pieces. We used different media such as collage, printing, painting and film in our artwork and have showcased lots of it around school.
