    Posted on: 13/10/2021

In Garnet Class, the children have been learning  about Ignatius Sancho.

Born into slavery circa 1729, Sancho would go on to become a free man, writer and composer of music. He also played a role in the abolition of enslavement in Britain.

The children learnt about his fascinating life, spanning from Grenada to Greenwich and listened to his music before painting his portrait.
